The Yidou Spring is a natural spring in the shape of a dou (unit of dry measure for grain). Legend has it that in ancient times, Mianshan Mountain had a few trees because it ran short of water. One day, Primeval Lord of Heaven came to Mianshan Mountain, and saw the desolate mountain. His heart went out to the people in the area. He dipped his brush into the East China Sea and spread water on the mountain. Immediately Mianshan Mountain was covered with green trees. To guarantee that Mianshan Mountain would no longer run out of water, the god left several drops of water in the mountain, which turned into springs. Yidou Spring is one of them.
The Three Turtle Stones refer to three rocks in the shape of turtle. In ancient times when Yu the Great excreted the water of Jinyang Lake to subdue the flood, three turtles came to Mianshan Mountain. When finding the water of the Yidou Spring was sweet and limpid, they often came to drink water from the spring and made troubles for the local people. Primeval Lord of Heaven in the Heaven of Jade Clarity was very angry about them, so he put the three turtles under the mountain and let them guard the Yidou Spring.
