My father has been to many scenic spots and historical sites. Upon returning home after a trip, he would tell me in detail about his impression. Long time ago, my father mentioned Mianshan Mountain and spoke highly of its scenery, making me have a dream of paying a visit to Mianshan Mountain for a long time.
We spent one day in taking a tour of the Old Town of Pingyao and the Courtyard of Wang Family in Lingshi. We walked out of the Courtyard of Wang Family at nightfall to head for Mianshan Mountain, a place I had admired for a long time. When our bus was driving quickly on the first-class highway, our tourist guide pointed at a tuft of stars in the sky and said: ¡°It is our destination.¡± I leant my head against the window and found that they were lanterns rather than stars, which were like precious stones inserted in the mountains far away. My father once described the beautiful scenery of Mianshan Mountain at night. Though I was still on the way, my heart had already flown to the mountain.
After about one-hour drive, our bus slowly stopped on a small slope. My mind came back to the reality. After wiping off the steam on the window, I saw the entrance of Mianshan Mountain ¡ª the tower-like gate, the Ticket Office and the dim contour of the mountain. I could not see the ¡°stars¡±. Probably they were hidden in the mountain. When I was going off into flights of fancy, the guide returned with our admission tickets in the hands and our bus rushed through the gate. ¡°Please pay attention to your safety! We have entered the winding mountain path. Please sit down!¡± When the guide had hardly finished speaking, a colleague of mine who had fallen into a sleep was thrown out from her seat. We all burst into laughter. Our bus climbed the mountain along the ¡°Ö®¡±-shaped road. Each corner had a convex lens to help the driver see clearly the situation on the other side.
