The Mingdao Altar was built by Lord Wen of the state of Jin to worship the heaven, the earth, the emperor, ancestors and teachers and commemorate Jie Zitui. The Mingdao Altar is a traditional moral education base, which holds the aphorisms and inscriptions by the emperors, prime ministers and generals of the past ages on observing the disciplines, doing kind deeds and administering the country with law and morality.
